Voyageurs National Park Picture by NPS
Voyageurs National Park is a waterway of four large lakes connected by narrows that was once the route of the French-Canadian voyageurs. Voyageurs NP has over 500 islands, and the lakes surround a peninsula of boreal forest.
Voyageurs NP was established April 8, 1975.

Grand Teton National Park Picture by NPS
Grand Teton National Park features a rugged, awe-inspiring mountain range with numerous piedmont lakes nestled along its flanks, and the wide, sagebrush-covered valley of Jackson Hole.
Grand Teton NP was established February 26, 1929. On September 14, 1950 the original 1929 park and the Jackson Hole National Monument including a generous donation from John D. Rockefeller, Jr. were combined in to the “New” Grand Teton National Park, creating the present day park boundaries.

Glacier National Park Picture by NPS
Glacier National Park is known as the Backbone of the World to the Blackfeet Nation, Glacier is known for its precipitous, jagged peaks ranging above 10,000 feet. This ruggedly beautiful land includes 25 remaining glaciers, hundreds of glacier-fed lakes and streams, an unparalleled variety of wildflowers, and abundant wildlife including grizzly bears, wolverines, and gray wolves.
Glacier NP was established May 11, 1910 and became part of Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park on June 30, 1932. Glacier National Park was designated a Biosphere Reserve 1976 and Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park became a World Heritage Site on December 9, 1995.

Fort Jefferson, Dry Tortugas NP photo by NPS.
Dry Tortugas National Park includes Fort Jefferson which was built from 1846 to 1866 to help control the Florida Straits. It is the largest all-masonry fortification in the Western world. The bird refuge and marine life are notable features of the park. Snorkeling, birdwatching and enjoying Fort Jefferson are some of the highlights of a trip to the Dry Tortugas.
Dry Tortugas NP was proclaimed Fort Jefferson National Monument January 4, 1935 by President Franklin Roosevelt; and renamed and redesignated as Dry Tortugas National Park on October 26, 1992

Mammoth Cave National Park Picture by NPS
Mammoth Cave National Park was established to preserve the cave system, including Mammoth Cave, the scenic river valleys of the Green and Nolin rivers, and a section of the hilly country of south central Kentucky. This is the longest recorded cave system in the world, with over 350 miles explored and mapped.
Mammoth Cave NP was established July 1, 1941. Mammoth Cave was designated a World Heritage Site on October 27, 1981 and designated a Biosphere Reserve 1990.
